intersection of architecture,
coffee, and design

How does design shape the way we experience coffee? This talk explores the interplay between space, atmosphere, and café culture—looking at current trends in Rotterdam and featuring a case study of büro bobo as a model of how interior design and coffee can seamlessly come together.

Ulli Heckmann launched his architecture and design studio in Paris in 2013. After living in there and Berlin he moved to Rotterdam in 2021. Today he is working on various design and architecture projects in the Netherlands, France and Germany reaching from object and interior design to private housing projects, retail, gastronomy and artistic installations. In 2023 he created Büro Bobo, a 15 m² concept space focusing on architecture and design, coffee and natural wine.

The moderator Raoul Tomaselli is a MSc student of architecture urbanism and building sciences at TUDelft and a barista part-timer passionate about coffee.
